Agreement for use of SCA SOFTWARE:

Statistical Coupling Analysis Algorithms ("SCA"), including modifications, enhancements, improvements, updates, additions, derivative works, and documentation (SCA SOFTWARE) have been developed at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas (UT SOUTHWESTERN) in the laboratory of Rama Ranganathan (who is a faculty member of UT SOUTHWESTERN). Users at academic institutions may obtain a copy for non-commercial academic research purposes, by following these steps:

  1. Read the agreement below.
  2. Fill in the registration information.
  3. If you accept the agreement, indicate this by checking the three boxes below, and submitting.

UT SOUTHWESTERN Internal Use License Agreement:

  1. This is a legal agreement between you, RECIPIENT, and UT SOUTHWESTERN. By accepting, receiving, and using SCA SOFTWARE, you are agreeing to be bound by the terms of this Agreement. If you do not agree to the terms of this Agreement, promptly return the SCA SOFTWARE to UT SOUTHWESTERN.
  2. UT SOUTHWESTERN grants to RECIPIENT a non-exclusive, non-transferable, fully paid-up license to use the SCA SOFTWARE furnished hereunder, upon the terms and conditions set out below.
  3. RECIPIENT acknowledges that the SCA SOFTWARE is a research tool still in the development stage and is not at the level of performance and compatibility of a final, generally available product offering. SCA SOFTWARE may not operate correctly and may be withdrawn from use by UT SOUTHWESTERN at any time. SCA SOFTWARE is provided "AS IS" without warranty of any kind. The entire risk arising out of the use or performance of SCA SOFTWARE remains with RECIPIENT. In no event will UT SOUTHWESTERN, the University of Texas System (SYSTEM) or HHMI be liable for any damage whatsoever arising out of the use of or inability to use SCA SOFTWARE, even if UT SOUTHWESTERN, SYSTEM or HHMI has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
  4. RECIPIENT agrees to use the SCA SOFTWARE solely for internal, academic, non-commercial purposes on a single computer in RECIPIENT'S research facility at INSTITUTION and shall not distribute or transfer it to another location or to any other person without prior written permission from UT SOUTHWESTERN. RECIPIENT agrees that SCA SOFTWARE will not be used by RECIPIENT, whether alone or in collaboration with another scientist, for research that is presently, or in the future becomes, subject to consulting, licensing, or similar obligations to any third party other than the United States government.
  5. RECIPIENT acknowledges that title and copyright to the SCA SOFTWARE and any associated documentation are the sole property of UT SOUTHWESTERN. RECIPIENT agrees not to: (a) copy, sell or market SCA SOFTWARE to any third party; (b) demonstrate, describe, or perform SCA SOFTWARE for any party or entity other than laboratory personnel under RECIPIENT'S direct supervision; or (c) modify, reuse, disassemble, decompile, reverse engineer, alter or otherwise translate SCA SOFTWARE or any portion thereof.
